The Political Frame
Politics are in every organization, whether you want them to be or not. The political frame takes the idea of politics and puts it to use by recognizing this fact and using it to deal with conflict. As with most conflict resolution, there are wrong ways and right ways of using politics to your benefit without being overbearing. Leaders must build a power base and use power carefully (Bolman & Deal, 2021). This means not abusing that power by making ultimatums but rather through finesse.

Reflection
I find the necessity of using politics to get what you want rather distastefully, but I do understand its necessity. Having the skills to use politics as a tool will help a leader to be better equipped to influence or steer things in a direction they want, or that is best for the organization. We all have things we want, and we’re often competing for resources or jobs and using some form of politics to get them. I have personally used what many call the “good ol’ boy network” to find jobs or get jobs for friends. This also helps in gathering your power base and that your friends will have your back should you need it.
